Travel Information and Parking

Due to extremely heavy rain in the Redcar and Cleveland region over the last few weeks, we have had to make some changes to the infrastructure for the Redcar Half Marathon this weekend.

As our main Car Park at the Kirkleatham Showground site is waterlogged, we will now be operating a free Park and Ride service for all competitors and accompanying spectators.  The service is available from 7.00 am to 2.45 pm and will operate from the following Car Parks; Redcar Race Course, Rye Hills School and Redcar & Cleveland College to the drop-off point adjacent to the race start at the junction of Plantation Road and Larkwood Road in Kirkleatham.  The Park and Ride Car Parks will all be signposted and we would ask you to follow the advice of the event Marshalls who will direct you to the nearest available spaces.

If you are intending to register for the race on the day, we would advise you to arrive a little earlier than usual to ensure your entry is processed before the start.  The Late Registration Desk will now be located on the main Kirkleatham Museum site and will open from 7.30 am.

The Half Marathon route is not affected by the weather and will be as indicated in the Competitors Information Packs and on this website.

We hope you enjoy the race and look forward to welcoming you to the event on Sunday.

How To Get Here

Competitors Parking is available at both Kirkleatham Business Park and the Showground site.  These locations are clearly marked on the map included in the Competitors Information Pack sent to you with your race number and timing chip and available as a download on the Race Information site.  In the event of severe inclement weather, alternative parking arrangements will be signposted on race day; please follow Marshalls’ instructions when you arrive.
