Half Marathon
The location of the Start and Finish of the 2010 Start Fitness Redcar Half Marathon is by the sea on The Stray at Redcar.
The route heads initially towards Marske, then turns back down The Stray, Esplanade and past the Boating Lake at Coatham to head to the A66 Trunk Road. Turning just before the Lackenby roundabout the route retraces its steps to the finish on The Stray. The new route provides ample opportunities for spectators and runners to watch friends and family and elite athletes participate in this well established North East event.
On the course
- A lead car displaying the race time will be at the head of the field and then located by the finish line
- 3 water stations, at approximately 4.5 miles, 7.5 miles and 10.5 miles
- A First Aid vehicle will sweep the course behind the race
- Many official stewards along the route to cheer you on
Family Fun Run
The Family Fun Run 2010 is located entirely within the playing fields managed by Teesside Athletic on Green Lane in Redcar, located directly opposite the start and finish of the Half Marathon.
Facilities at the showfield for all competitors in both events will include:
- Race Event Retailer – come and visit the Start Fitness stall for the fantastic deals on shoes and clothing
- TFM Radio

- Hot & Cold Food & Beverages
- Baggage Drop Tent
- Medical Cover
- Toilets
- Late Registration
Security of personal belongings: We have security patrolling the baggage drop tent, but we cannot guarantee security of personal belongings. We encourage all competitors to leave valuable at home.
